Twelfth Night, or What You Will

A cross-dressing, shipwreck surviving, poetry-loving girl finds herself at the center of a not-so-average love triangle.

"If music be the food of love, play on."

Twins Viola and Sebastian emerge from a shipwreck, each thinking the other dead. Viola disguises herself as a boy named Cesario, while Sebastian finds himself in the middle of a fight. Mistaken identities, love notes, and misunderstandings abound, but of course things all turn out right in this classic Shakespearean comedy.

This play will be presented by the Elements of Acting & Design class in its full length version, and a 40-minute cutting will be Newburyport's entry for the Massachusetts Drama Festival.

It is the mission of the Newburyport Public School Performing Arts Department to provide every student the opportunity to engage in the appreciation, creation and analysis of multiple performing arts modalities.
